Let me help you meet your goals for speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. I love teaching and I am excited to work with you!
Summer is the best English teacher I’ve ever met. She wanted to know my goals and needs first and made individualized plans to achieve them. She researches a lot for the resources to answer my questions. I am Korean, and she understands how Koreans read and speak English and what to practice to be more proficient. As a medical professional, studying English with Summer helped me a lot especially in terms of communicating with patients and co-workers. She is very bright, happy and encouraging which makes me motivated. I will keep learning English from her whenever I need it.
Summer is a top-notch educator! She designs lessons around the adult learners’ goals and interests making learning fun at every level of English.

Summer is the best teacher I have ever met and a dedicated English teaching professional with a wide range of skills. I would be more than happy to recommend her to people who want to learn and improve English skills in any way they want.
I moved to Bellingham in 1996, as a college student, to attend Western Washington University. I received my degree in Environmental Studies and after a few years of working in that field, I decided to go back to school. I got my TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate in 2004 and began working at Skagit Literacy teaching ESL classes for adults at a neighborhood community center, as well evening classes for parents at elementary schools. In 2009, I completed my Master’s Degree in TESOL and started working for Whatcom Literacy Council in Bellingham. I worked for many years at the ESL Coordinator for the Whatcom Literacy Council, training and supporting volunteer tutors to teach ESL students. Over the years, I have also taught classes for English Language Learners at Bellingham Technical College, Whatcom Community College and Goodwill Education Center. I enjoy playing soccer, hiking, reading and spending time with my family. My husband is also a teacher and I have two children.
